The Belgian Malinois is a light, constant shedder with a smooth, short coat. The coat also has a waterproof quality which can be lessened with too frequent bathing, so baths should be given only when absolutely necessary. Brush regularly -- daily is best -- using a firm bristle brush to keep the coat clean and shiny. Because they can shed heavily according to the seasons, extra attention may be needed.
